Our members are 100% volunteers. Not one of us receives any financial compensation for what we do. That includes responding to emergency calls, training to keep our skills sharp, and working with the community to provide fire prevention and other public relations services.

Serving the Community Is Rewarding

We at Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company are proud to serve our community. And we are extremely fortunate to have the continued support of our friends and neighbors here in McCandless.

But we need your time and talents!

We are constantly looking for new members . . . dedicated, service-minded individuals who want to give back to their community.

Maybe you're not interested in the actual fighting of fire or operation of rescue tools. Not a problem! We still have a place for you:

  • Maybe you're interested in keeping our vehicles and stations clean and well maintained . . .
  • Or perhaps you'd like to safely drive our fire apparatus and firefighters to emergency scenes . . .
  • Or maybe you want to help us with our public relations efforts . . .
  • Or our fundraising campaigns . . .
  • Or you may be interested in joining our Ladies' Auxiliary to support the mission of the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company . . .

We understand—joining a fire department in any capacity is a big decision to make. So talk with us and see what our fire service is all about before you make your decision. Give us a call at (412) 364-3571. Or send us an e-mail. Or stop by either station any Tuesday night around 7:00 pm or any time you see the doors open. Then decide whether you are ready to serve your family, friends, and neighbors with the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company. And we're looking for men and women ages 17 and older to help their friends, neighbors, and families during their times of greatest need!

Of course, you can always download our membership application now, and either stop by the station any Tuesday evening to meet with our members, or e-mail the application to us.

Having a thriving, safe community requires everyone's effort.
