We at Ingomar VFC are dedicated to serving the community!

We not only respond to emergencies in the community 24/7, but we make fire prevention and fire safety education a priority through fun community activities. Whether we're hosting our annual Halloween parade and open house, visiting a local school, or giving tours of our stations, apparatus, or personal protective gear, we make sure to teach fire prevention and fire safety to make Ingomar a fun and safe place to live, work, and play!

Upcoming Events

October 9 - October 15: Fire Prevention Week

Fire safety and prevention is everyone's responsibility. If you are a teacher or lead a youth-based community group, we ask that you reserve time during Fire Prevention Week to focus on fire prevention and safety. And if you're a parent, grandparent, or babysitter, we ask that you spend time each week with your young ones to talk about fire safety and prevention. Want firefighters to help teach fire safety to your class or community group during Fire Prevention Week? Just call the station at (412) 364-3571, or e-mail us to make arrangements.

Saturday, October 27: Annual Halloween Parade & Open House

We can't wait to once again celebrate Halloween with the community! The parade begins at Ingomar Elementary School at 5:00 pm, and proceeds down West Ingomar Road to the fire station.

As always, the fire station will be decorated for Halloween and will have plenty of food, games, and fun for kids of all ages! So get your costumes ready and join us!

Saturday, November 26 & Sunday, November 27: Toys for Tots Collections

Join the McCandless fire companies (Ingomar, Highland, and Peebles) from 8 am - 4 pm at McCandless Crossing and Pine Creek Center as we fill our trucks with toys for the less fortunate! last year we collected over 1,200 toys and $2,500 to donate to the United States Marine Corps Reserve—all because of the generosity of our community. Help us beat last year's totals, and stop by to donate a new toy or a few dollars!

We will also be taking donations at each of the three McCandless fire stations on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm!

Sunday, December 18: Santa Claus Comes to Ingomar

Believe it or not, we have connections with important people, including the jolly old man in the red suit. And every year, he wants to be sure that the boys and girls of Ingomar are ready for Christmas! So we'll spend the afternoon driving around the streets of Ingomar with Santa Claus! He has a special treat for every child, so be sure to listen for the fire siren, and come out with your young ones and say hi to Santa when the fire truck comes to your neighborhood!
